Little Celest loves the Durain Butter Almond Cake that i learnt to bake on last Wednesday...Me, Patsy and Ros registered a 4-hours bakery course. That day, the topic was on durian and we were taught to bake a durian ice-cream cake and durian butter almond cake. We had a hard time following the instruction; whipping the cream, pouring a egg at a time; turning the speed, weighing the ingredient, folding the flour and waiting, waiting and waiting....But the end result was awarding. The durian butter almond cake was nicely baked and it smells wonderful. My hubby and little Celest love the taste... not too sugary. I think i will try to bake it again at home. This time round without any assistance from the teacher.. hehehehe.....
However, the ice cream cake was not so appetizing as its look. I guess the taste would have been improved if we were have used fresh durian meat instead of the durian puree.
